PROCESS

Arrangements is a continuing series of collage paintings.

Palettes are formed from the artist’s photographs and drawing and painting.

These are selected from contact sheets containing thousands of collage segments. With photographs, the non focal point or periphery of image is of interest.

These marks and gestures combined, are improvised, repeated, responded to and re-formed to become iterative improvised compositions. Often these are again reformed, recalibrated, reversioned, redrawn and repainted to again form collage.

Phases of process are applied, collage elements being further manipulated and treated or eroded until transformed and returned into the canvas support. Through these additive and subtractive processes collage is meshed between analogue mediums.

Compositions are exhibited as paintings at varying stages. Each painting will have different versions.
