Ross MacGregor, born Edinburgh 1978, studied drawing and painting at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating 2000. He also holds an MA in Art Direction from Falmouth College of Art.
He has held workshops and exhibited both nationally and internationally in artist run spaces, the Royal Scottish Academy and in contemporary galleries such as The Open Eye Gallery and At The Vanishing Point and his work resides in private collections and businesses. Ross holds a WASPS artist studio where he continues to exhibit and take part in the open days.
Wound magazine described his figurative work in 2008 as ‘possessing an emotional intensity reminiscent of early Freud’.
In his abstract works Ross attempts deconstruction of process and visual syntax, and the interplay betwixt viewer and artwork, as explored in the intricately detailed multi-media collages he is currently undertaking.
